Although this Viking 68 has never fished, in 2014 new Rupp outriggers and Bluewater fighting chair were added to make LOST TEXAN ready for a fisherman! She features a highly functional (and factory optional) Skybridge with a custom hardtop that was designed and installed in 2014. The hardtop was specially designed to flow with the streamlined lines of this boat. Her gelcoat is exceptional and her owner had Viking South paint her hull (originally blue), to match the superstructure in 2014. The interior of the boat also seems as fresh as the exterior. The salon couches are very unique, as the backs and bottom cushions are one unit and come up together giving much more access to the storage areas under the seating. The master suite is a double, split level room and creates a grand owners cabin, not common on sportfish. The 12 cylinder C32As (with only 700 original hours) provide a comfortable 30 knot cruise with a 36-37 knot top speed. Also, CAT diesels allow for substantially more space in the engine room. These features, and more, combine to make the Lost Texan a very special yacht.
This 68' is optioned for the ultimate in cruising comfort. The 3 stateroom layout offers a master suite with maximum storage and a sitting area for true live aboard comfort. The forward VIP stateroom features a walk around queen bed and en-suite head. The starboard guest stateroom has a double bunk with extra storage and private access to the starboard guest head.
The galley is set up for gourmet cooking. It includes extra storage and a full Gaggenau oven. The granite counter has a 7" overhang for bar stools and the dinette table and settee are larger to seat more guests comfortably.
The salon is ideal for entertaining with the large L-shaped "Dewberry" sofa, huge storage ottoman with storage for bottles and movies, and the "pop-up" 46" Samsung LCD TV.
Access to the enclosed flybridge is easy from the salon via a spiral stairway or a ladder from the cockpit. Running the boat from the enclosed bridge is like being in a second salon / living room. The bridge has an L-shaped settee, hi-lo cocktail table and two riding seats with a Stidd chair at the helm. There is also a compact office area complete with printer shelf, desk for computer, file cabinet and everything necessary to conduct business.
A covered flybridge or Skybridge features a center console helm, teak helm pod with single lever controls with thruster buttons in the handles, two teak ladder back helm chairs, bench seating on both sides and seating for two in front of the helm console. There is a custom arch above where radar and TV antennas are mounted.
The cockpit features Viking's famous mezzanine seating for maximum comfort and there is a TV hookup for watching the big game. The teak covering boards, cockpit and mezzanine deck complete the custom look.
